The Department of Administration is a vital organ of the Institute responsible for managing its day to day operations. With its mandates of goal setting facilitation, plan development, institutional organization, coordination, and implementation of processes, the Institute considers having a vibrant, focused, and competent department of administration a key success factor for the realization of its corporate objectives of producing 21st century teachers through consistent professional development. Without prejudice to the functions of other departments, its specific functions are:
- To work with the Board and Management to formulate institutional goals, policies, operational procedures, and regulations within the context of the State’s Service Regulatory Framework and in tandem with the requirements of Professional Development practice in line with national and global standards;
- To mobilize political/managerial support and the required resources for the development, approval and implementation of Strategic Plan, Annual Action Plans and Annual Budgets of the Institute. The Department will liaise with the relevant Ministries and Organs of the State Government to ensure compliances with all extant rules and regulations in this regard;
- To liaise and offer administrative support through relevant advisory and collaborative actions to other Departments for the effective, efficient and smooth running or delivery of all programmes and services of the Institute with a view to ensure that it meets its professional development goals at all time;
- To work with other departments as well as other organs of government to facilitate the recruitment, deployment, placement, work assignment, training, termination and discipline of all permanent personnel of the Institute in line with extant service rules and regulations of Niger State or contract agreements in respect of resource persons and consultants;
- To provide leadership and liaise with relevant departments on all matters of procurement, legal transactions including signing of contracts, agreements and litigations, effective marketing of the Institute, networking and relationship management with partners and other external bodies including government agencies etc.; and
- To liaise with other departments and provide leadership in the review and update of plans and development of reports on the performance of the Institute in key areas of budget implementation, expenditure management, market penetration, revenue generation, and status of compliances among others
